【stew of beef sinew】Simple Japanese Recipe

Today I'll show you easy japanese food cooking recipe.
「Stewed beef tendons」
This dish is a perfect side dish of rice.
It will also be snacks for japanese sake.


Pre-cooking of meat and konjac.

1.Put the beef sinew in boiling water and blanch until the color changes, and then washed it with water.

2.Cut it into bite-size A.


1.Cut konjac into bite-size.Put the konjac in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, and then washed it with water B.
(konjac is a paste made from konjak flour; jelly‐like food)


Preparation of japanese soup stock with dried sardines and kombu (kelp).

1.Put ingredients of S into a pot and boil slowly and boil 2-3 minutes over medium heat.

2.Remove the harshness and then take away the dried sardines and kombu (kelp).
this soup stock is C.


Cooking recipe for stew of beef sinew.

1.Put the A(meat), B(konjac), C(soup stock), and 200 ml of japanese sake into a pot.Boil over medium heat and then remove the harshness.

2.Add sugar (27g) and red miso (60g) into that pot.
And then cook over low heat for 1.5 hr -2hr.Sometimes remove the floating fat.

3.Serve in a float dish.
(Add shichimi pepper and mustard to your liking.)


・ingredient for beef sinew.
beef sinew 600〜700g
konjac 300g
japanese sake 200ml
sugar 27g
red miso 60g


・ingredient for soup stock (japanese style)
S. dried sardines 20g, kombu 2 sheets(1 sheet is about the size of 5cmX5cm), water 2200ml

I've already tried this recipe.But I couldn't get beef sinew.
So I was using the slice meat of beef instead of beef sinew.
I forgot the preparation of soup stock.But taste is so good.
This recipe is quite simple and easy to cook.
I 'd like to cook this dish again.
